Join us on October 7, 2024 for a roundtable event focusing on protecting and growing the biomedical research and life sciences sector in the Northwest. Even though the pace of drug discovery has accelerated over the past decade, clinical research funding is in decline and presents a national crisis. With a vibrant life sciences industry in the Northwest, the decline in public support for various aspects of drug development, from the use of animal models to a general distrust and distaste for "Big Pharma" and the biotech sector, is incredibly concerning to NWABR and its member institutions.
This half-day session of panel dialogues will educate the public, policymakers, and key stakeholders about the foundational inputs required to support the biomedical research community. Our goal is that this will catalyze regional and national advocacy efforts to support to priorities identified throughout the day.

Other Upcoming Community Events
NWABR encourages dialogue within our community in order to promote the understanding of research. Opportunities that connect scientists with the community break down scientist stereotypes, make science more inviting, and underscore the contribution of life sciences to our daily lives.
Scientists are encouraged to share their passion for science by volunteering to help as science fair judges, mentors/advisors, or presenters at community science nights.
NWABR brings the excitement of science and the promise of research to the non-science community through events such as Community Conversations Series or Volunteer Opportunities.
