Sanofi-aventis BioGENEius Challenge
Hosted by the Biotechnology Institute, the BioGENEius Challenge is an annual competition for high school students which recognizes outstanding biotechnology research. Fifteen regional finalists from the United States, Canada, and the first global delegates from Western Australia will compete in the International competition held in conjunction with the Biotechnology Industry Organization’s (BIO) Annual International Convention in San Diego, CA. Finalists will present their projects to a panel of expert biotech judges and are recognized at BIO. Cash prizes are awarded to International winners. The state application deadline is February 15, 2008. The Northwest Regional Challenge, held in collaboration with the Northwest Association for Biomedical Research, will be held in Seattle, April 19, 2008.

Intel Science and Engineering Fair Guidelines
Expo students who plan to conduct research using animals or human participants must follow the Intel Guidelines
Siemens Foundation Competition in Math, Science, and Technology.
First prize is $100,000 in scholarship money for college with runners up getting $10,000-50,000. Registration for the 2009-2010 competition will open in May 2009.
Washington State Science and Engineering Fair
We encourage Expo participants in the research category to enter in other local and national fairs, such as the Washington State Science and Engineering Fair (Intel-affiliated).
