The Northwest Association for Biomedical Research (NWABR), host of the Student Biotech Expo, is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the understanding of biomedical research. NWABR brings together organizations, companies, academic institutions and individuals to foster education, and partnerships in the life sciences
The Puget Sound region has become an important center of research and manufacture of new products that use biotechnology. The Washington Biotechnology and Biomedical Association is an industry association of Washington state biotechnology and biomedical companies, research firms and related organizations. Member companies are developing revolutionary methods for diagnosis and treatment of cancer, AIDS, multiple sclerosis, cystic fibrosis, and other serious conditions. In agriculture, member companies are developing foods and processes that enhance product yield, nutrition, taste, and shelf life.
