Kari Koszdin, D.V.M. Dipl ACLAM, CPIA
Kari Koszdin is a Veterinary Medical Officer at the VA Puget Sound. In addition, she has consulted as a veterinarian at numerous research institutes and companies in the Puget Sound region. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Comparative Medicine at the University of Washington. She instructs faculty and staff at the UW in the humane care and use of laboratory animals.
Dr. Koszdin received a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Davis, and a M.S. Degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. She worked as a research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry, then earned her D.V.M. from the University of Wisconsin, in 1997. She completed her post-doctoral residency training in laboratory animal Medicine at the University of Washington in 2000. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine in 2001. She is also a Certified Professional IACUC manager.
