Lorraine McConnell
Lorraine McConnell, Board Emeritus 2017, is the Director of the Office of Research Integrity at Portland State University since 2008. She leads and manages Research Integrity programs which include Financial Conflict of Interests, Responsible Conduct of Research, Research Misconduct, Human Subjects Research Protections, Animal Welfare, and Biosafety. Lorraine develops curricula and training materials for the research integrity programs; creates policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements while providing for effective and efficient practices; and she conducts risk assessments, gap analyses, benchmarks, audits and investigations.
Ms. McConnell has held similar positions at the University of Idaho and Washington State University (WSU). She also conducted recombinant DNA research at WSU and managed the microbiology unit at Pullman Regional Hospital. She is a Medical Technologist and Certified Biosafety Professional.
Lorraine is one of the founding planning team members of the Portland Community Conversation Series.
