Kara Drolet
Kara Manning Drolet, PhD, joined the NWABR Board of Directors in 2018. She is Associate Vice President at the Research Integrity Office at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). This office provides oversight for the Institutional Review Board, Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee, Institutional Biosafety Committee, and Conflict of Interest programs. She also chairs the Conflict of Interest in Research Committee at OHSU, serves as co-chair for the Oregon State Advisory Committee for Genetic Privacy and Research, and is a member of the steering committee for the American Association of Medical College’s Forum on Conflict of Interest in Academe. Dr. Drolet obtained her Bachelor of Science degree at Oregon State University in biology, genetics emphasis, where she also earned a minor in philosophy. While working toward her doctorate degree at OHSU in Molecular and Medical Genetics, Dr. Drolet interned at the National Academy of Science-Science & Technology Policy program where she grew her interests in science policy. After earning her PhD, Dr. Drolet began working for the Research Integrity Office and has worked in the area of research compliance for over 15 years.
