Jennifer Wroblewski, Public Engagement Manager
Jen Wroblewski is the Public Engagement Manager at NWABR. Ms. Wroblewski designs, implements and evaluates public forums including the NWABR Community Conversation Series and special events. She has experience in guided discussion techniques and qualitative research methods, including development of discussion guides and textual and narrative coding for themes. She administers the NWABR Speakers Bureau, matching practicing scientists with speaker engagements among education and community groups. As part of the Bureau, Jen creates communication workshops for science professionals to increase the effectiveness and impact of presentations for their key publics. Prior to this position Jen was a research scientist at Harborview Medical Center where she studied sexually transmitted infections in the Totten Lab for 10 years. She has presented her findings in publications and at conferences.
Jen is Co-founder and organizer of Science on Tap, an independent Seattle Science Cafe since 2004, which facilitates public interaction with scientists in an informal setting.
Ms. Wroblewski received her Masters in Public Health (Genetics) from the University of Washington in 2005, where her thesis research focused on understanding perspectives about genetic information and technology in the greater Seattle Presbyterian community.
