Our friends at the Oregon National Primate Research Center need your help!

Animal research is often misunderstood, but the reality is simple: this work is a mission of love—for both people and animals alike. Every day, researchers, veterinarians, and animal care teams dedicate their lives to advancing medicine, ensuring the highest ethical standards, and protecting human and animal health.

Take Action: Support ONPRC & Defend Medical Advances

📢 Write to Governor Kotek & the Oregon Health Care Market Oversight (HCMO) program

Today, we need your voice to help protect this vital work. The Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONPRC)—one of the nation’s leading biomedical research institutions—is under attack by misleading claims that threaten its very existence. Without ONPRC, critical medical research that benefits millions of people and animals could be lost.

The truth matters. Anti-research groups like PCRM have released an inflammatory campaign attacking ONPRC with disinformation and false stories and statistics, and on Friday, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek directly urged OHSU to close the primate research center. The HCMO is also getting a lot of pressure to turn down the Legacy acquisition unless ONPRC is closed.

Tell the Governor and the HCMO that ONPRC must remain open and operational. The false claims made by opponents misrepresent the reality of ONPRC’s work—which is guided by compassion, strict ethical oversight, and a commitment to both scientific progress and animal welfare.

Feel free to use our template here.
