The 14th Annual NWABR Student Bio Expo was held on May 22nd 2014 at Shoreline Community College. NWABR's Student Bio Expo provides a platform for students to learn about biomedical science, and students inspire us in return. It was another great year for the Student Bio Expo!

Over 265 students participated from 18 schools from around Washington State. Students had access to 85 scientific mentors to develop their projects and 65 professional judges to present at the Expo. NWABR would like to thank the many academic institutions and corporations that supported students at the Expo, these included the University of Washington, FHCRC, Amgen and Seattle Genetics. A BIG thankyou goes  to our sponsors Amgen, Zymogenetics and Dendreon.

The mission of the Student Bio Expo is to promote an understanding of bioscience research among high school students. We provide access to scientific resources and engage students in creative ways to demonstrate their knowledge of the disciplines of biotechnology and biomedicine. By connecting students, teachers, scientists, and the general public, we strengthen our life sciences community.

The mission of the Student Bio Expo is to promote an understanding of bioscience research among high school students (11 graders). We provide access to scientific resources and engage students in new creative ways to demonstrate what they know and are able to do within the disciplines of biotechnology and biomedicine. By connecting students, teachers, scientists, and the general public together, we strengthen our life sciences community.

The NWABR Student Bio Expo is a unique program that engages high school students in creative ways to demonstrate their understanding of the life sciences, and that connects them to scientists and resources in the community.
